Vegeta is no match for Frieza and is quickly incapacitated. Piccolo, Gohan and Krillin are forced to stand idly by while Frieza continues to thrash the Saiyan prince. However, Goku arrives at the battlefield, and surprisingly, Frieza finds his appearance very familiar (this is because he resembles his father Bardock, who lead a lonely last stand in attempt to save Planet Vegeta.) An ailing Vegeta tells Goku to defeat Frieza, as he was the one who destroyed the Saiyan homeworld and their entire race. Mocking Frieza, telling him Goku really IS a Super Saiyan, the tyrant blasts him through the heart, giving him just seconds to live. Begging Goku to win the fight, Vegeta finally passes away. Goku quickly makes a grave and buries him, setting his sights on Frieza himself - preparing for his toughest battle yet.
