Trunks returns to the future and is reunited with Bulma. As tranquility seems to return, it is announced that the androids are attacking again. Thanks to his training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Trunks easily destroys Androids #17 and #18. Three years later, Trunks prepares to head back into the past to tell everyone of his victory. However, there is still one more android to stop: Cell. With #17 and #18 gone, Trunks kills the weaker Imperfect Cell and peace finally is restored to the future. Back in the present, Goku begins his new “life” in the Other World.

This episode was originally scheduled to air March 27, 2011, but Fuji TV postponed the airing of this and several other television programs to air news coverage on the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. It was eventually released on DVD and Blu-Ray on August 2, 2011 and is listed as an “extra” episode, instead of the original Episode 98.
